That’s right yall….I turned 28. Last year, when I turned 27 someone mentioned to me that I was “pushing 30.” I staunchly refuted that statement at the time. I guess there’s no point in denying it now though. I’m kicking 20’s ass and I’m bumpin’ up on 30 like it’s my job. And for the last five years (the length of my tenure as an oncology nurse, no coincidence) I’ve been highly aware of my mortality and the privilege of another beautiful birthday.
So I just wanted to take the time to thank all of you. I’ve truly been blessed with incredibly thoughtful gifts. I’ve had the pleasure of the company of close friends. My fridge was littered with cards from friends and family near and far, many of which revolved around margaritas. I don’t know what yall are trying to say? I’ve read and reread all the texts and Facebook messages and I’m touched by your kind words. Yall know how to make an old girl feel good!
May truly got away from me though. I was honored with not one, but two prestigious awards at work. I watched friends get married. I’ve celebrated Mother’s Day and birthdays until I’m pooped. But it’s summertime and the livin’ is easy so I won’t complain! Hope everyone has a great week!
